Advising for Global System Change

Much of my attention these past 12 years has been helping people achieve things for themselves, their organisation and society, at the same time. My first paid strategy work involved looking at how market mechanisms could be used to promote sustainable fishing, and as a result I developed an organization plan for the Marine Stewardship Council, which exists today with certified fish coming from around the world. Much of my advisory work is unpaid and informal, through discussions and correspondence with people who want to make a difference. In my role at Lifeworth I have provided research, strategy and policy development to over 25 clients in 14 different countries.

Jem encouraged me to explore innovative ways of using my knowledge and networks for social change, which helped me to develop the concept for Akashi, working on climate change with black and minority ethnic groups.
