Creating Change
The way people think is powerful in shaping the way they act, so working on ideas is itself practical. However, this can be intangible and potentially useless, if not connected to changing practices and helping people. I have an impulse, a rush of energy, when I see the potential to create something new that will have a practical use. Having failed in setting to set up a business in 1996 (an environmental services dotcom - too ahead of its time), I created Lifeworth in 2000 as a way for people interested in corporate responsibility to find new opportunities, and it evolved from there. Some achievements are listed in a timeline. Currently I am helping to build a number of networks, listed on the right.
CSR Geneva is a network of people living in or near Geneva and interested in business and sustainable development, whether working in the private, financial, governmental, intergovernmental or nongovernmental sectors. Co-founded with Cheryl Hicks (WBCSD), Valerie Weinzerl (WEF), Roland Widmer (Serono) and Nicole Voillat (Independent).
The Association of Sustainability Practitioners is just that.., and helps us to understand who we are as professionals in this field and how to help each other to grow. Founded by Mike Zeidler and colleagues, I am pleased to be on the board.
The Authentic Luxury Network and the
Star Charter and StarWiki are just too cool to explain on this boring website, so go check them out. :-)
