Jem Bendell is an activist, researcher, consultant and writer on globalisation issues. Désirée Abrahams is currently working as a Research Assistant for the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD). Her initial concern surrounding sweatshop labour subsequently stimulated her interest in international law, and in particular, its capacity as a strong regulatory mechanism. Presently, Désirée is writing a report on the various regulatory tools that exist to monitor the activities of multinational companies.
