In September 2006 I launched my blog - an online journal of my musings on life and current affairs. For the previous 10 years I have been busy publishing on issues such as corporate responsibility, business-NGO relations, HIV/AIDS, responsible investment, global finance, international trade negotiations, sustainable development, counter-globalisation, and civil society.

Some numbers on the words: I have published 2 academic books, 4 double-blind reviewed UN reports and have 1 forthcoming, 8 papers in academic journals, and 14 chapters in edited academic books, as well as a range of magazine articles and occasional papers published by research institutes. My work on business-society relations has been included in a Reader on the topic of business and sustainable development. This output has been as a part time academic.

Dr Bendell's book was groundbreaking and seminal, as it helped consultants in the corporate responsibility and sustainability fields better understand the range of reasons why companies should engage civil society, the methods involved, and the mistakes to avoid. It also helped NGOs with their own strategies. It still provides the most relevant analysis of the potential and pitfalls of engagement.
